The Master’s program in Women’s and Gender Studies

The Master’s program in Women’s and Gender Studies is an interdisciplinary, research oriented program.  The program’s goal is to afford its students with an in-depth knowledge of the scholarship and debate concerning gender in the various disciplines, provide them with the tools to conduct their research, and encourage them to develop a multifaceted view of the gendered reality of human lives and the ways gendered social and political frameworks shape these lives.
The program’s curriculum emphasizes the theoretical links between the various disciplines and Women’s and Gender Studies, while emphasizing the unique epistemology and methodology of Women’s and Gender Studies.  The program offer a variety of courses devoted to the myriad topics on which the academic scholarship in the field has focused upon; among the topics are:

  • The social construction of masculinity and femininity

Our hope is that this multifaceted view will enrich the students and enable them to take it with them and utilize it in their future academic studies, or in the workplace.
